The Council Board has created issue committees to involve more people in CKCPJ's work for justice and peace.
Two committees are working already: the Peace Action Committee and a committee that will work for a meaningfully higher minimum wage wage in Fayette County - the Lexington Working Families Campaign.
The Peace Action Committee, led by Richard Mitchell and Kerby Neill, meets the third Wednesday of each month. For the next few months they are meeting at the Lexington Friends (Quaker) Meeting House.
A third committee, the Social Justice Committee, will be starting up shortly. Social Justice's primary focii will be immigration, health care reform, and sensible regulation of fire arms.
